Katy is James’s PA, and knows an alarming amount about him including what night his bins go out. She produces the forthcoming OV podcast, and is responsible for the welfare of all our team members. She was also a mentor for our first intern.
When not working for OV, she is an accomplished international operatic soprano (‘enchanting’—Opera Magazine, ‘outstanding’—Evening Standard).
I started out as a chorister at All Saints' Church, Northampton, and then studied classical singing at the Guildhall School of Music, the Royal College of Music and the National Opera Studio.
I’ve sung in all sorts of European opera houses, but now am mostly listening to the soundtrack of Frozen II and recreating scenes from the film with my two young children. In the good old days before the sleep-thieves arrived, my favourite composers to listen to and sing were Handel, Britten and Strauss (R not J!). My favourite little bit of music ever is the Act III trio from Der Rosenkavalier; it makes me weep whenever I hear it.
I’ve ice-skated with Torvil and Dean.
